Derek is a Senior Project Manager typically taking control of our largest most demanding projects.  He joined KC in 2011, fresh out of Temple University where he earned both his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Civil Engineering.  Derek quickly found his way to roles of responsibility thanks in part to his mechanical intelligence and high-level understanding of construction means and methods.

 

Derek now has nearly 10 years of hands on construction experience and is one our most seasoned Project Mangers.  As a PM his typical job tasks include development of job costs and the project schedule, buyout of subcontracts and materials, and management of in-house and subcontractor workforce. He is responsible for ensuring good relations with the owner and engineer and maintaining the project schedule and budget. Additional duties include monitoring and updating the schedule by evaluating quantities of work in place and productivity of in-house crews. Derek oversees our Project Engineers by reviewing shop drawings and submittals to ensure compliance with project specifications. He also provides onsite supervision in order to minimize potential construction issues in an effort to maintain the project schedule.  As needed, Derek will assist with project estimating on larger jobs.

 

Derek lives in the lower Bucks County, Pa with his wife Amanda who is also and an Engineer in the area.  They enjoy spending time with friends, their dog and getting out on their new boat.  Baby in the near future???
