John and Kathy Lima founded KC together back in 1987.

 

John has over thirty years as a General Contractor/Construction Manager and Consulting Engineer.  Most recent experience as President and Project Manager of KC Construction Company with annual business volume of $20 to $30 million dollars.  Project Manager for numerous Heavy Civil construction projects relating to water, wastewater, dam safety improvements, Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) and environmental protection projects.  Experienced Geotechnical and Foundation Engineer and Licensed Land Surveyor with specific expertise in earth dam design and inspection. 

 

President of Operations duties include:  overall managing of field activities, provide technical assistance and troubleshooting to resolve unforeseen site conditions and value engineering alternatives. Responsible for quality control of all earthwork activities including structural backfill of embankments and levees, sheeting and shoring applications and dewatering facilities. 

 

Project Management responsibilities have included a wide range of Public Works, Commercial and Industrial Projects.  Recent Public Works projects include:  landfills, earth dams, site development, municipal complexes, transit facilities, water treatment facilities and water distribution systems.

 

When not at KC, John and Kathy can be found sowing their other passion – Farming!  Lima Family Farms (Link) is a family-owned farm with a mission to feed the local community, sustainable delicious food. Lima Family Farms is nested next to the rolling hills of the Sourland Mountains, backed by the peaceful Neshanic River in Somerset County, New Jersey.  We kindly raise 100% Grass-Fed Beef, Pastured Pork and Poultry and cultivate our land to produce vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers without the use of synthetic pesticides, fungicides or antibiotics.
